Loop fishing tackle were keen to reintroduce their famous Loop Double Hook, a favourite of Atlantic Salmon anglers who wanted a really strong hook, alongside a new range of Loop fly-tying materials.
We hosted one of their signature tyers, Thorsten Strueben, over a ten day period, who came out to Thailand, both to develop the series of flies using both their signature Loop Salmon Double Hooks, as well as a range of Tube flies using their new Loop Material range.
Our tyers at Shadow Flies are more than capable of taking any fly designs, whether from the bottom of a fly box or a guide special and turning it into a production-ready sample, ideally with a physical sample but images will do.
That said BUT we are always hugely appreciative of the chance to receive instruction, especially for a new range of flies ensuring that the results are as close to perfect on the first production time. This invariably helps widens the pool of knowledge, passing on new techniques as well as experimenting with new materials, all of which allows our products to be further refined and improved.
After 6 long days in the workshop, we ended up with 47 new patterns in 118 sizes! This encompassed 12 new patterns on Loop doubles, tied on 4 different sizes, 24 plastic bodied tube flies in 2 sizes, 5 zonker tubes in 2 sizes and 6 zonker muddlers, also in 2 sizes. With a dedicated team you can achieve an awful lot over a relatively short period.
